Akshdeep Singh Rajawat

Akshdeep Singh Rajawat began his role as Web Applications Developer at the Nebraska Statewide Workforce & Educational Reporting System (NSWERS) in August 2023.

Rajawat’s work experience includes four years in web development and data systems. Prior to NSWERS, he worked at Gartner and Credit Karma.

As Web Applications Developer, Rajawat works closely with the Assistant Director of IT Applications Development to plan, develop, and manage web applications to support the goals and objectives of the organization. This includes ensuring effective and secure application operations, support and maintenance of legacy applications, development of new technical solutions, and successful application integration with NSWERS partner organizations.

Rajawat holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology in Bangalore, India and a master’s degree in computer science from the University of North Carolina.

Brendan Eich, creator of JavaScript.

What behavior or personality trait do you most attribute your success to, and why?

Curiosity and continuous learning. Technology evolves rapidly. Staying informed is essential.

What’s the biggest misconception people have about your position?

Some people think that web development is just like connecting Lego pieces. However, it’s not that simple. It involves coding, designing, and complex logic to get a web application up and running. It’s like cooking a meal; you need the right amount of ingredients to create a good dish.

If you could only have three apps on your smartphone, which would you pick?

TickTick for task management, Youtube for learning, and Instagram for connecting with friends and family.

What is a fun or interesting fact about your hometown?

The most interesting thing about my hometown, Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India, is that most of the houses are painted blue. This is why it’s often referred to as the “Blue City”.
