Use the ISO date format (YYYY-MM-DD)
This is a mandatory field; a value must be supplied for each record or the data loading process will reject the record.
The data loading process will check for valid dates (e.g., values of 2004-02-30 and 2004-13-01 would be rejected as invalid).
